Job summary

Ganymede Solutions Ltd. in Southampton is seeking a Dual Skilled Technician to maintain and repair Liebherr lifting machinery and heavy lift equipment. You will combine electrical and mechanical expertise with strict safety and record-keeping to keep equipment reliable and available at the intermodal hub.

The role is permanent with a 24/7 shift pattern (days, nights and weekends). Expect annual earnings around £55k with overtime often taking total earnings beyond £60k, plus development

Qualifications

• Level 3 engineering qualification required.
• Apprentice-trained or time-served engineers preferred.
• Experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance.
• Strong commitment to safe working practices.
• Ability to fault-find methodically and repair to a high standard.

Dual Skilled Technician – Heavy Lift Equipment

Location: Southampton

Job Type: Permanent

Salary : Circa £55kpa +

Shifts – continental shift pattern covering days, nights & weekends.

Looking for a hands-on engineering role where your electrical and mechanical skills will keep vital machinery and heavy lifting equipment maintained?

Join within an experience engineering team within a busy intermodal transportation hub, working on a variety of machinery and heavy lift equipment.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will maintain, service, fault-find and repair predominantly Liebherr lifting machinery & cranes. You will combine practical engineering expertise with disciplined safety and record-keeping standards, helping to keep machinery & equipment reliable, compliant and available for operation within this busy transportation hub.

• Respond to reactive maintenance requirements quickly and professionally to ensure minimal disruption to operations
• Maintain high housekeeping standards to keep the yard & terminal clean, organised and safe
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in a safety-critical, 24/7 maintenance environment
• A relevant Level 3 engineering qualification
• Apprentice-trained or time-served engineering experience
• Practical experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance
• A strong commitment to safe working practices
• The ability to fault-find methodically and complete repairs to a high standard
• Clear communication skills and a reliable, team-focused approach
• Flexibility to work across a 24/7 shift roster

What You Will Bring

Knowledge of Liebherr equipment would be advantageous, but applications are also welcomed from any dual skilled engineering maintenance background including, maritime & ports, rail, heavy industry, HGV, aviation, industrial machinery, the Armed Forces or other safety-critical reactive engineering environments.

Shift Pattern

The site operates around the clock, so this position requires a flexible approach to working hours across a 24/7 shift roster, including days, nights and weekends. Overtime is available on a points system to ensure fair offering and shift cover is allocated across the team to allow for optimal use of holidays – e.g. 1 week block off across every 8 week rotation in addition to your allotted holiday allowance.
