Job summary

Know How Resourcing is recruiting an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer to support timber and window‑and‑door manufacturing operations. The role combines hands‑on maintenance with planned preventive work, equipment installations and practical improvement projects at Rodley and other company sites.

You’ll report to the Operations Director and work with production teams to minimise downtime, diagnose faults and improve reliability, safety, quality and efficiency across plant and site services.

Qualifications

• Recognised Level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent.
• BS 7671 qualification is essential.
• Strong hands‑on electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in industrial settings.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and fault find on motors and control circuits.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns with safe repairs.
• Plan and perform preventive maintenance, inspections and replacements.
• Maintain motors, drives, sensors, control panels and basic PLC systems.
• Support pneumatic/hydraulic systems, conveyors and pumps.
• Identify root causes of faults and implement reliability improvements.
• Carry out electrical installations, modifications and testing within competence.
• Maintain site services and manage equipment maintenance records.
• Coordinate with contractors and support statutory inspections.
• Prioritise repairs with production teams and communicate downtime.
