Job summary

A Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer position in East Midlands, focused on food manufacturing, requires an apprentice-trained electrical or mechanical bias with strong industrial maintenance experience. You will manage PPM, reactive repairs and fault-finding across production equipment to maximise plant performance and minimise downtime.

The role covers instrumentation calibration, HMIs/PLCs/DCS/SCADA fault-finding, and CMMS record-keeping, with adherence to safety and food standards.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained multiskilled engineer with electrical or mechanical bias.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing, preferably hygienic equipment.
• Experience in PPM, predictive maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Food manufacturing experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance across production equipment and systems.
• Diagnose faults, complete repairs and identify root causes to improve equipment reliability.
• Provide hands‑on engineering support to production teams to maintain plant operations.
• Carry out instrumentation calibration and fault‑finding on electrical and control systems.
• Fault‑find on HMIs, PLCs, DCS and SCADA systems.
• Record maintenance activities, faults and parts usage in CMMS.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with health, safety and food safety standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant efficiency.
