Job summary

CV Technical Limited is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for a busy Derby food manufacturing site. The role involves planned and reactive maintenance across a production environment, with a focus on electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repair on conveyors, packaging and sealing systems.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will diagnose faults on PLCs/SCADA, read schematics, and liaise with suppliers.

Qualifications

Knowledge of BS 7671 / IET Wiring Regulations, or equivalent.
Strong electrical fault-finding experience.
Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems and PCBs.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
Experience with conveyors and packaging equipment.
Knowledge of sealing and vacuum-packing machinery would be advantageous.
City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repair.
Diagnosing faults on PLCs, SCADA systems and PCBs.
Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
Working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Maintaining and repairing conveyors and packaging machinery.
Maintaining sealing and vacuum-packing machinery.
Prioritising maintenance activities to minimise downtime.
Liaising with suppliers and external service providers.
Identifying and ordering replacement parts and equipment.
Supporting the engineering team to maintain a safe and efficient production environment.
