Job summary

The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer role is based in Wigan and offers up to £45,000 per year, including shift premiums and overtime, depending on experience.

This hands-on role combines fault-finding with proactive maintenance and continuous improvement to keep the manufacturing operation performing at its best.

You will work rotating shifts and be part of a team commutable from Bolton, Chorley, Skelmersdale, Warrington, Manchester and Liverpool.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification with electrical bias preferred.
• Experience with PLC fault finding and diagnostics.
• Strong analytical, planning, coordination and communication skills.
• Experience in FMCG/food manufacturing operations.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across machinery, utilities and site services.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance reliability, safety and efficiency.
• Support engineering projects and equipment installations as required.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, hygiene, environmental and health & safety standards.
