Impact Recruitment are partnering with a well-established food manufacturing business in Wellingborough to recruit a Multi-Skilled Engineer. This hands-on maintenance role covers planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery, requiring a strong electrical and mechanical background.

You will work Monday to Friday on rotating shifts (06:00-14:00, 08:00-16:00, 14:00-22:00), with no nights, in a permanent position offering £42,000-£47,000 plus company benefits and training development.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Strong multi-skilled maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Good understanding of electrical and mechanical fault-finding.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production machinery.
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
• Work across production machinery including mills, bailers, mixers, hoppers, and robots.
• Carry out root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement and machinery reliability improvements.
• Use workshop equipment including drills, saws, grinders, and welding equipment.
• Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Impact Recruitment are currently working with a well-established food manufacturing business based in Wellingborough who are looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their Engineering team. This is a hands-on maintenance role where you will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a range of production machinery.

Duties

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise production downtime
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
• Work across production machinery including mills, bailers, mixers, hoppers, and robots
• Carry out root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Support continuous improvement and machinery reliability improvements

The Ideal Candidate Must

• Be apprentice trained with an NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent engineering qualification
• Hold a current 18th Edition qualification
• Have proven multi-skilled maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
• Have strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Have an electrical bias, although the role is approximately 50/50 electrical and mechanical
• Be confident using hand tools and workshop equipment
• Have a good understanding of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment
• Be comfortable working directly on production machinery and responding to breakdowns

Desirable

• Previous experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, or process manufacturing
• PLC fault-finding experience (programming is not required)
• Experience with motors, sensors, inverters, conveyors, and pneumatics
• Experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems
