Are you an experienced freight forwarding professional ready to step into a supervisory role while staying hands-on with shipments?

We’re looking for a Multimodal Freight Forwarding Supervisor to join a busy Southampton operation. You’ll lead and support a team of around 7, manage your own shipments and play a key role in keeping specialist cargo moving efficiently from initial enquiry through to final delivery.

With exposure to container & project shipping, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced freight professional who enjoys solving problems, supporting a team and taking ownership of challenging shipments.

About the Role:

As Multimodal Freight Forwarding Supervisor, you’ll act as the day-to-day link between the Operations Manager and the wider operational team.

This is very much a hands-on supervisory position. Alongside guiding and supporting the team, you’ll continue to manage your own shipment files, quotations and customer requirements.
You’ll be involved throughout the shipment lifecycle, coordinating the different services required for specialist cargo movements and ensuring customers receive proactive communication from enquiry through to completion.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading, supporting and overseeing a team of 7 operational staff
• Acting as the day-to-day link between the Operations Manager and operational team
• Managing and coordinating your own export shipments from start to finish
• Handling complex project shipments
• Managing shipments from initial enquiry and quotation through to booking and final delivery
• Taking ownership of shipment files, including operational and financial elements
• Preparing and submitting shipment estimates and following enquiries through to confirmed bookings
• Keeping customers informed throughout their shipment and proactively identifying potential issues
• Using initiative and creative problem-solving to find practical solutions
• Helping maintain high standards of customer service, accuracy and communication across the team
• Keeping up to date with relevant international shipping & Customs updates

Salary & Benefits:

This company is looking to pay a competitive salary for the right candidates in the region of between £38K & £47K, depending on experience
