Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous experience within freight forwarding.
• Strong import operations experience.
• Hands-on experience completing Customs entries via CDS.
• Good understanding of the end-to-end freight forwarding process.
• Experience using CargoWise or a similar freight forwarding system.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day import and export freight operations.
• Coordinate ocean, air and road freight shipments.
• Manage shipments from initial booking through to delivery.
• Liaise with customers, overseas offices, shipping lines, airlines, hauliers and other suppliers.
• Prepare and check shipping documentation.
• Complete UK Customs entries via CDS.
• Ensure shipments comply with customs and regulatory requirements.
• Handle customer queries and provide regular shipment updates.
• Work with internal teams to move shipments efficiently and meet deadlines.
• Monitor costs, charges and invoicing.
• Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers.

Location: Southampton

Salary: £32,000-£36,000 + Bonus | Permanent

Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30am – 17:00

We’re working with an established and highly respected international logistics business that is looking to strengthen its Southampton operation with an experienced Multimodal Freight Operator.

The Role

As a Multimodal Freight Operator, you’ll be responsible for managing shipments from booking through to final delivery, ensuring customers receive a high level of service throughout.

Your responsibilities will include:
