Job summary

Centre for Sustainable Energy in Bristol is seeking an Energy Connector to support multilingual communities through outreach and digital energy advice. You will co-design and deliver culturally appropriate information to help residents understand energy use, save money and access support.

This six-month fixed-term, part-time role combines home, office and community work. You will run workshops, develop simple content, and learn through training, including a Level 3 Energy Awareness qualification.

Qualifications

• Good written and spoken English and Arabic, or another language spoken by a community within Bristol.
• Ability to communicate effectively with multilingual communities.
• Ability to use digital tools and social platforms to share information.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Inclusive, accessible and culturally responsive communication.
• Organise tasks and manage time, independently and in teams.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office suite (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook).
• Curiosity and willingness to test new community engagement approaches.
• Willingness to learn about energy issues and fuel poverty challenges.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with residents and partner organisations engaging multilingual communities.
• Support workshops and outreach activities to understand local needs and communication preferences.
• Co-create and deliver project activities and resources leveraging community knowledge.
• Undertake research to understand challenges in accessing energy information and support.
• Design communications campaigns that increase awareness of energy issues and support.
• Develop content including short videos, audio messages, WhatsApp content, infographics and social campaigns.
• Assist residents to access energy advice services, grants and support schemes.
• Explain key energy topics in clear, accessible ways for the target audience.
• Participate in training and complete the Level 3 Energy Awareness qualification.
