Job summary

Briggs Marine Group is seeking an experienced Engineer to work on board a Multicat vessel. This is a full-time permanent position with one of the marine industry's leading operators.

You will work alongside an skilled crew and receive a competitive salary and benefits package. Qualifications

  • Mandatory safety-related certificates and training relevant to marine engineering and shipboard operations.
  • Engine room safety certifications and emergency response training are required.

Responsibilities

  • Efficient operation and maintenance of all plant and equipment on the vessel.
  • Maintain stand-by plant and systems in readiness for emergencies.
  • Test stand-by systems regularly and report defects affecting safety or environment.
  • Assign ratings to crew per engineering department responsibilities under SMS.
  • Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions with ship Master.
  • Perform regular inspections of plant and equipment.
  • Keep Oil Record Book and Engine Log Book accurate and up to date.
  • Ensure vessel complies with company SMS.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Engineer to work on board one of our Multicat Vessels, this is a full-time permanent opportunity working with one of the main players in the marine industry.

The successful applicant will be working alongside an experienced crew and receive a competitive salary and benefits package.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Efficient operation and maintenance of all plant and equipment associated with safety and anti-pollution as defined by statutory legislation and Company procedures.
  • Maintaining stand‑by plant and systems in a completed state of readiness to meet any emergency requirements.
  • Testing stand‑by systems on a regular basis and in accordance with Company procedure.
  • Notifying the Master immediately of any defects which may affect ships safety or put at risk the marine environment.
  • Assigning ratings specific roles with respect to the engineering department’s responsibilities under the safety management system.
  • Investigating non-conformances and applying corrective action as agreed with the ship’s Master.
  • Regular inspections of all plant and equipment.
  • Ensure Oil Record Book and Engine Log Book are accurate and up to date.
  • Ensure vessel is in compliance with company SMS
