Job summary

Sanctuary Group is seeking a Multi-Trade Operative (Plumber) to cover sites across Hampshire, with a base in Salisbury. You will join a team performing reactive maintenance across carpentry, plumbing, plastering and related trades, typically 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

A company van and power tools are provided. The role requires a strong plumbing background, flexibility to work across multiple trades, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in carpentry or electrical required or working towards it.
• Plumbing Level 3 with WRAS or equivalent is desirable.
• Copies of original qualifications must be brought to interview.

Responsibilities

• Carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance per contract specs.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and restock as needed.
• Respond to complaints and breakdowns, informing customers of progress.
• Provide accurate progress updates on works in plain terms.
• Emergency call-out rota approximately 1 in every 13/14 weeks.

Multi-Trade Operative - Plumber

Office location Salisbury - Covering GU, RG & SP postcodes - Other Area Coverage could be required from time to time.

£37,452per year

40 hours per week-Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day

We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our team, covering different sites across Hampshire. In this role you will be working as part of a team with some lone working also required. These works are Day to Day reactive maintenance on our properties and duties include carpentry, painting and decorating, bricklaying, plumbing and general maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong plumbing background as their primary trade, complemented by experience across a range of multi-trade disciplines.

Due to the nature of the role, a company van will be provided as well as power tools for you to complete jobs to a high standard.

The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:

• Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
• Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
• Emergency call out rota, which will be approximately 1 in every 13/14 weeks.

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
• Recent experience of undertaking a similar role within social housing is advantageous
• Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks
• Additional skills in some of the following disciplines - plumbing, carpentry and plastering
• Working knowledge of the health and safety regulations
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
