Job summary

Fraser Edwards Recruitment represents a construction contractor with over 50 years in the industry. We seek a Multi Skilled Operative to cover Newcastle and surrounding areas on a MOD contract, performing plumbing, carpentry and related trades.

The role includes a 1-in-4 call-out rota with standby fees and enhanced call-out rates. Benefits include a company van, fuel card, trade card, power tools, pension and life insurance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in a similar building/multi-trade role
• Full UK Driver's License required
• Plumbing or Carpentry bias advantageous but not essential

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing tasks: tap, basin and toilet changes; leak repairs.
• Carry out carpentry: doors, skirting, stud walls, flooring, architrave.
• Do minor brickwork; sealing/silicone; patch plastering.
• Log works via PDA; liaise with customers and staff.
• Support on a MOD contract across Newcastle and surrounding areas.

Fraser Edwards are currently working with a construction contractor that have been trading for over 50 years in the construction sector providing complete building and maintenance services to private and public clients nationwide.

Due to continued growth, our client is recruiting for Multi Skilled Operative to join the team, to undertake works in the Newcastle and local surrounding areas.

The Job

This role will be on their MOD Contract that our client has going into void and tenanted properties undertaking the following key duties:

• Plumbing - tap, basin and toilet changes. Leak repairs.
• Carpentry - Hanging Doors, Skirting, Stud Walls, Flooring, Architrave
• Minor Brickwork
• Sealing/Silicone
• Snagging Works
• Patch Plastering
• Logging works via PDA
• Liaising with customers, clients, and staff

This role will include a call out rota, which is 1 in every 4 weeks.

• you will receive a standby fee, paid per day
• All call outs paid at x1.5 hourly rate door to door
• No more than 4 - 6 call outs which normally occur before 10pm and after 6am

Company Benefits

• Basic Salary: £35,900
• Callout OTE - £2500 - £3000

Candidate Requirements

• Full UK Drivers License
• Plumbing or Carpentry Bias
• Core trade qualification is advantageous but not essential
• 5+ years experience within a similar role building/multi trade role

• 40 Hours Per Week
