Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd. seeks a permanent Multi-Trade Operative to cover Oxford and surrounding areas. You will perform carpentry, plumbing, tiling and decorating across kitchens, bathrooms, and void properties, delivering finished refurbishments to a high standard.

The role offers Monday–Friday 7:30am–4:30pm with steady work, potential long-term subcontracting, and a possible direct arrangement after 14 weeks through the agency. A van and transport arrangements are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience across carpentry, plumbing, tiling and decorating across kitchens, bathrooms and void properties.
• Full plastering and vinyl flooring skills advantageous.
• Own van preferred; car may be considered for tool transport and site access.

Responsibilities

• Complete multi-trade refurbishment works across kitchens, bathrooms and void properties.
• Undertake carpentry, plumbing, tiling and decorating to a high standard.
• Install kitchens and finish related multi-trade tasks.
• Carry out void property works and prepare homes for occupation.
• Carry out plastering tasks or patch-plastering where required.
• Install vinyl flooring where applicable.
• Move between workstreams as priorities change.
• Collect materials from local suppliers as needed.
• Document completed work with photos or records; maintain safety and compliance.

Job description

Enjoy a permanent Multi-Trade Operative role working across kitchen, bathroom and void refurbishment projects in Oxford and the surrounding area. This is a varied opportunity for an experienced tradesperson with strong carpentry, plumbing, tiling and decorating skills, with consistent work available for successful operatives.

The role offers Monday to Friday working hours of 7:30am to 4:30pm, with the potential for long-term subcontracting opportunities. There is also potential to transfer to a direct arrangement after completing 14 weeks through the agency.

As a Multi-Trade Operative, you will be:

• Completing multi-trade repairs and refurbishment works across kitchens, bathrooms and void properties.
• Undertaking carpentry, plumbing, tiling and decorating to a high standard.
• Fitting kitchens and completing associated multi-trade finishing works.
• Carrying out void property works and preparing homes for occupation.
• Completing full plastering or patch-plastering tasks where required.
• Installing vinyl flooring where this forms part of your skill set.
• Moving between different workstreams when priorities change.
• Collecting emergency or additional materials from local suppliers when necessary.
• Maintaining photographs or other evidence of completed work where available.
• Working safely and reliably, without undertaking regulated gas or electrical tasks.

I'd love to speak to anyone who has:

• Strong experience across carpentry, plumbing, tiling and decorating.
• Experience working across kitchen, bathroom and void property programmes.
• Full plastering and vinyl flooring skills would be advantageous, although candidates with patch-plastering experience may also be considered.
• A practical and reliable approach to working in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
• Examples, photographs or a portfolio of previous work where possible.
• Formal trade qualifications are advantageous but not essential where you have substantial, demonstrable on-the-job experience.
• Your own van is preferred due to parking restrictions and occasional material collections.
• A car may be considered if you can transport your tools and accept that parking may be further from some sites.
• Ability to work flexibly across different types of work at short notice.
• Ability to assess your competency honestly across each trade using a skills matrix.

The day rate willbe £200-£220 per day

Location & travel

The role is based across Oxford and surrounding locations, with candidates ideally living within approximately 45 minutes of Oxford to support reliable attendance.

Materials are delivered to site in most cases, although occasional collections from local suppliers may be required. A commercial van is preferred, particularly where permit-controlled parking applies.
