Fraser Edwards Recruitment is seeking a skilled Multi Trade Operative for a long-term contract in social housing across Brighton, Haywards Heath and Crawley. The role involves carpentry, plumbing, refurbishments and resident liaison to maintain living standards and safety.

The candidate will work with the maintenance team, completing 1st/2nd fix carpentry, basic plumbing, kitchen/bathroom upgrades, tiling, plastering, snagging, and PDA logging, while ensuring high-quality workmanship and

• 2+ years' experience in social housing maintenance.
• Full UK driver’s licence is essential for mobility.
• Core Trade Qualification is desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 1st and 2nd fix carpentry such as hanging doors, skirting and architrave.
• Perform basic plumbing to maintain properties.
• Undertake kitchen and bathroom refurbishment works.
• Carry out minor tiling repairs in kitchens and bathrooms.
• Do patch plastering to ensure smooth surfaces.
• Carry out snagging works to fix defects.
• Log works and progress using a PDA.
• Liaise with residents, clients and staff to ensure smooth operations.

Fraser Edwards is currently working with a Property Maintenance Company to source a skilled Multi Trade Operative for a long-term contract role within social housing covering the Brighton, Haywards Heath and Crawley areas. This role requires not only technical proficiency but also strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks, from essential carpentry work to engaging with residents and addressing their maintenance needs promptly. The role plays a crucial part in maintaining the living standards and safety of social housing properties. As a key member of the maintenance team, the operative will assist in transforming and upkeeping the living spaces, thereby improving the quality of life for residents.

The Role:

• 1st and 2nd Fix Carpentry - Hanging doors, fitting skirting and architrave.
• Basic Plumbing: Conduct essential plumbing tasks to maintain and improve property conditions.
• Kitchen and Bathroom Refurbishment Works: Play a key role in upgrading these critical areas.
• Minor Tiling Repairs: Address small tiling issues in bathrooms and kitchens.
• Patch Plastering: Execute minor plastering tasks to ensure smooth and finished surfaces.
• Snagging Works: Identify and rectify minor defects to ensure high-quality standards.
• Logging Works via PDA: Efficiently document tasks and progress using a PDA.
• Liaising with Customers, Clients, and Staff: Maintain clear communication to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
