Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking a skilled Multi-Trade Operative to join our busy responsive repairs contract in Tonbridge. You will perform maintenance across plumbing, carpentry, plastering, tiling and decorating in social housing, delivering high-quality workmanship.

The role requires proven multi-trade experience, a full UK driving licence and strong fault-finding abilities. You will work independently, manage your workload and ensure safety standards are met on-site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience across multiple trades.
• Full UK driving licence (over 21) and clean record.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Understanding of health & safety regulations.
• DBS/security check clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive repairs in occupied and void social housing properties.
• Repair or replace skirting boards, doors, handles, locks, and hinges.
• Install and adjust kitchen units and worktops.
• Patch plastering, wall/floor tiling, painting and decorating.
• Identify and fix minor plumbing issues (leaks, dripping taps, blocked sinks).
• Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle.
• Accurately record work using handheld devices or job sheets.
• Deliver excellent customer service while respecting residents' homes.

Position: Multi-Trade Operative

Hours: 42.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm)

Location: Tonbridge, South Coast

Start Date: ASAP

Rate: £23.54/hour on UMB (Temp to perm)

Role Overview

We're looking for a skilled and versatile Multi-Skilled Operative to join a busy responsive repairs contract.
