Job summary

Ian Williams Ltd. is seeking a Multi Trade Operative to join our Response team in the East Midlands. You will handle reactive repairs, perform joinery, plumbing and plastering tasks, and keep residents informed with a high standard of service.

With safety at the core, you’ll work in occupied homes, embrace problem solving and contribute to a reliable, 39-hour week with potential overtime and call-outs. Driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• You will be NVQ Level 2 qualified or equivalent in a relevant trade.
• Driving licence is required for driving a company van.
• Experience in domestic or social housing is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Health & Safety, ensuring safety for you, colleagues and customers.
• Perform multi-trade tasks in occupied homes, including joinery, plumbing and plastering.
• Engage with residents to deliver a high standard of service.
• Use fault finding skills to resolve issues in domestic settings.
• Attend reactive, emergency and routine repairs; some planned refurbishments.

The Multi Trade Operative role:

• Health & Safety first -We're committed to keeping you safe, happy, and supported. Safety is central to every aspect of this role, for you, us, and our customers.
• Multi trade work -Complete second fix tasks in occupied residential properties, including joinery, plumbing, and plastering.
• Customer focused -Enjoy working in domestic environments, engaging with residents and collaborating with your team.
• Problem solving -Apply fault finding skills in domestic settings to resolve issues effectively.
• Responsive repairs -Attend reactive, emergency, and routine repairs, with occasional planned refurbishment in void properties. (Emergency call out on a rota basis)

What you will bring as a Multi Trade Operative:

You will be qualified to NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade, ideally with experience in domestic or social housing environments, desirable, but not essential.

With a genuine passion for improving people’s homes, you bring strong customer service skills and enjoy working with others. A full UK driving licence is required.
