Job summary

Ian Williams Ltd. is seeking a skilled Multi Trade Operative to join our Response team in East Sussex.

You will carry out reactive repairs and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment, always placing the customer at the centre of our service. We offer a secure, supportive environment, with a 39-hour paid week, a company van and fuel card, uniform and PPE, and generous holiday and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in a relevant trade is desirable but not essential.
• Strong customer service mindset and passion for improving homes.

Responsibilities

• Health & Safety first—safety is central to the role.
• Multi-trade work: complete second fix tasks in occupied properties (joinery, plumbing, plastering).
• Customer focused: work in domestic environments with residents.
• Problem solving: fault finding in domestic settings.
• Responsive repairs: attend reactive, emergency and routine repairs; some planned refurbishment in void properties.

The Multi Trade Operative role:

• Health & Safety first -We're committed to keeping you safe, happy, and supported. Safety is central to every aspect of this role, for you, us, and our customers.
• Multi trade work -Complete second fix tasks in occupied residential properties, including joinery, plumbing, and plastering.
• Customer focused -Enjoy working in domestic environments, engaging with residents and collaborating with your team.
• Problem solving -Apply fault finding skills in domestic settings to resolve issues effectively.
• Responsive repairs -Attend reactive, emergency, and routine repairs, with occasional planned refurbishment in void properties. (Emergency call out on a rota basis)

What you will bring as a Multi Trade Operative:

You will be qualified to NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade, ideally with experience in domestic or social housing environments, desirable, but not essential.

With a genuine passion for improving people’s homes, you bring strong customer service skills and enjoy working with others. A full UK driving licence is required.
