Job summary

DK Recruitment is seeking an experienced Multi-Trade Operative to join a busy repairs and maintenance team in Plymouth. The role covers visiting supported housing and general needs properties, carrying out a mix of planned and reactive maintenance with a strong focus on quality workmanship and customer service.

You will work across trades such as plumbing, carpentry, bathroom and kitchen fitting, plastering, tiling and decorating, in occupied properties.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar multi-trade or maintenance role.
• Comfort working in occupied supported housing properties.
• Competent in plumbing and carpentry.
• Experience across multiple maintenance disciplines.
• Able to diagnose and resolve property maintenance issues.
• Pride in workmanship and customer service.
• Reliable, organized and able to work independently.
• Holds a full UK driving licence.
• Happy to complete a DBS check.
• Comfortable driving a company van and insurer requirements.

Multi-Trade Operative

Salary: £35,047.58 - £36,597.60 per annum + Company Van

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Plymouth- mobile role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Trade Operative to join a busy repairs and maintenance team, working across properties throughout Plymouth

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking for a varied role where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for carrying out a combination of planned and reactive maintenance, with a strong focus on completing work to a high standard and providing excellent customer service. This position is for a housing association and you will be visiting supported housing and general needs properties.

The Role

As a Multi-Trade Operative, you will undertake a range of repairs and maintenance works across residential properties. You will ideally have a strong background in the trades, with experience across areas such as:

• Plumbing
• Carpentry
• Bathroom fitting
• Kitchen fitting
• Plastering
• Tiling
• Painting and decorating
• General property repairs and maintenance

You will often be working in occupied supported housing properties, so professionalism, communication and a customer-focused approach are essential.

About You

• Has previous experience working in a similar multi-trade or maintenance role
• Happy to work in vulnerable tenants properties
• Is competent in at least plumbing and carpentry
• Has experience across multiple maintenance disciplines
• Can confidently diagnose and resolve a range of property maintenance issues
• Takes pride in delivering a high standard of workmanship
• Has excellent customer service and communication skills
• Is reliable, organised and able to work independently
• Holds a full, current UK driving licence
• Happy to complete a DBS check
• Is comfortable driving a company van and meets insurer requirements

Experience within the social housing, housing association or similar property maintenance environment would be highly desirable.
