Job summary

Fortem Repairs and Maintenance has a 6 month fixed term contract with Stonewater Housing Society for a Multi Trade role across Taunton, Yeovil and surrounding areas. The role covers social housing properties, with a work van, fuel card, PPE and tools provided.

The ideal candidate will have NVQ/City & Guilds in Carpentry or equivalent, be able to pass a DBS check, hold a full UK driving license and bring multi-trade experience including carpentry or plumbing.

• Full UK driving license
• Must pass basic DBS check

Responsibilities

• Complete full carpentry and basic plumbing repairs or full plumbing with basic carpentry for social housing properties
• Advise supervisor when other trades are required
• Work with other operatives to complete projects
• Record and submit accurate data using business systems and devices
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and tenants
• Arrange purchase of materials to deliver works efficiently
• Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards
• Use PDA smartphone to update progress daily

Multi Trade - 6 month contract available!We have a new opportunity to join our Fortem Repairs and Maintenance team for 6 months on a fixed term contract at Stonewater Housing Society as a Multi Skilled Trade You can be an all round handy person or a trade which uses either core Carpentry skills, or Plumbing skills and a range of other Multi trade skills which can include, Tiling, Flooring, Locks and Windows etc.The Multi Trade will be responsible for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties covering a patch across Taunton, Yeovil and Surrounding areas in the South West so travel is essential.Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm - Work Van, Fuel card, Power Tools provided!

Our Services

Stonewater Housing is one of our long-term Social Housing contracts. We look after over 7,500 properties in 4 different areas of the South-West, from Taunton and Yeovil, over to Bristol and Swindon and down to Salisbury and Bournemouth.We deliver Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Capital Works and an Electrical Service program to their Social Housing across the South West region.We are currently rated as 4.5 on Glassdoor and 93% of staff would recommend to a friend!

Duties and Responsibilities

• Completing either Full carpentry and basic plumbing repairs work / or Full Plumbing with basic Carpentry for all social housing properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines.
• Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required
• Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
• Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices
• Affording excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants.
• Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.
• Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times.
• Operating within the company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures
• Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.

What you will need

Essential Criteria:

• NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent in Carpentry/ OR Qualified by experience will be considered
• Full UK driving license
• Must be able to pass basic DBS check

Desirable but not essential:

• Social Housing experience
