Job summary

Fortem seeks a Carpenter Multi Skilled Trade to join the Repairs and Maintenance team working across Warwickshire. You will perform carpentry, basic plumbing and other multi-trade tasks, with a focus on social housing properties. Core hours are Mon-Fri 8:00–16:30, and you will travel across Warwickshire and surrounding areas.

The role includes a company van, fuel card, power tools, PPE, and an annual bonus, with additional benefits and a strong focus on customer service and safety.

Qualifications

• NVQ/City & Guilds in Carpentry or equivalent, or proven experience in carpentry trades.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Ability to pass basic DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Carry out carpentry and basic plumbing repairs for social housing properties.
• Coordinate with supervisor when other trades are needed.
• Work with colleagues to complete projects on time and to specification.
• Record and submit data using relevant business systems and devices.
• Maintain excellent customer service to tenants and clients.
• Procure materials and manage stock for planned works.
• Adhere to safeguarding and health & safety policies at all times.
• Use PDA to update progress with colleagues daily.

Due to continued successful growth, We have a new permanent opportunity to join our Fortem Repairs and Maintenance team at Orbit Housing as a Carpenter Multi Skilled Trade in the Warwickshire area.You will use core Carpentry skills, basic Plumbing and a range of other Multi trade skills which can include, Tiling, Flooring, Windows.The Carpenter Multi Trade will be responsible for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties covering a patch across Warwickshire and surrounding areas so travel is essential.Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pmWe provide a Company Van, Fuel card, Power Tools, PPE and an annual bonus!

Fortem’s contract with Orbit Housing covers over 17,000 properties across Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Nuneaton, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Bedford. Duties and Responsibilities

• Completing Full carpentry and basic plumbing repairs work for all social housing properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines.
• Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required.
• Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
• Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices
• Affording excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants
• Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.
• Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times.
• Operating within the company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures
• Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.

What you will need

Essential Criteria:

• NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent in Carpentry/ OR Qualified by experience will be considered
• Full UK driving license
• Must be able to pass basic DBS check

Desirable but not essential:

• Social Housing experience
