Job summary

Fortem Solutions is recruiting a Multi Trade to join the Amplius Housing contract, covering Birmingham, Coventry and surrounding areas. The role is a 6-month fixed term contract within Repairs & Maintenance, working closely with tenants to fix issues in their homes.

The candidate will primarily perform carpentry or plumbing, with basic skills in other trades, and will operate with a company van and fuel card, supported by Supervisors as needed.

Qualifications

• Core Trade being Carpentry or Plumbing, with basic skills in multiple other trades.
• Must be able to work solo, without supervision.
• Must be able to use a tablet to receive jobs and create notes.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Complete carpentry and/or plumbing repairs to social housing properties as specified.
• Advise Supervisor when other trades are required.
• Work in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
• Record and submit accurate data using relevant business systems.
• Provide excellent customer service to tenants and client representatives.
• Arrange purchase of materials required to deliver works efficiently.
• Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards.
• Use PDA to update progress and completion information.

Job description

Here at Fortem Solutions we're currently recruiting for a Multi Trade to join our Amplius Housing contract, initially on a 6 month fixed term contract. This role would be covering Birmingham, Coventry and the surrounding areasThis role would be working in our Repairs & Maintenance team, working closely with local tenants to fix issues in their houses. We have a team of Planners in our head office who take calls from tenants and then plan your day out, making sure the houses you attend are in your patch and you have all the information you need before you get there. We're looking for a Multi Trade, so although we'd expect your primary skill to be within either Carpentry or Plumbing, we would need you to have basic skills in both, along with either Plastering, Tiling, Groundwork, Painting & Decorating or Electrics and be able to undertake jobs without supervision. This would primarily be solo work, however you will be given a company van and fuel card and you'll have Supervisors on hand should you need any help

The Client

Duties & Responsibilities

• Completing either Full carpentry and basic plumbing repairs work / or Full Plumbing with basic Carpentry for all social housing properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines.
• Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required
• Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
• Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices
• Affording excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants.
• Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.
• Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times.
• Operating within the company's occupational road risk policies and procedures
• Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.

What You Will Need

Essential:

• Core Trade being either Carpentry or Plumbing, but have at least basic skills in multiple other Trades
• Must be able to work solo, without supervision
• Must be able to use a tablet to receive jobs and create notes
• Full, UK driving licence with no more than 6 points

• Experience working within a social housing environment
