Job summary

Marshall of Cambridge Holdings Ltd in Cambridge is seeking a Multi-Skilled Special Process Operator to join our aerospace manufacturing team. The role offers specialist training and progression across a range of demanding processes on aerospace components.

You will be progressively trained and assessed in chemical conversion coating, anodising, passivation, plating, painting, heat treatment and related tasks while maintaining strict quality and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare components, masking and cleaning; ensure traceability records.
• Monitor processes for abnormalities and report issues.
• Maintain equipment care, housekeeping and continuous improvement.

Job description

We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Special Process Operator to join our aerospace manufacturing team in Cambridge.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced manufacturing, production or workshop operator who wants to develop specialist skills in aerospace manufacturing. Specialist training will be provided.

You will be progressively trained and assessed across a range of specialist processes, working on aerospace components to demanding customer, quality and regulatory standards.

What you'll do

Following training and authorisation, you'll develop skills in processes including:

• Chemical conversion coating
• Anodising
• Steel and stainless-steel passivation
• Selective plating
• Aerospace painting
• Heat treatment of aluminium alloys
• Component preparation, masking and cleaning
• Inspection and verification
• Operation and monitoring of process tanks, ovens and associated equipment
• Completion of production and traceability records
• Safe handling of chemicals and process materials
• Process monitoring and identification of abnormalities
• Equipment care, housekeeping and continuous improvement

You’ll work across different activities within the Special Process facility, developing into a genuinely multi‑skilled operator.
