Job summary

Mane Energy is seeking an experienced Production Operative to join an established aerospace manufacturing environment on a night shift basis in the United Kingdom. You will manufacture, assemble and machine aerospace components to meet strict standards.

Responsibilities include welding, operating lathes, milling and drilling machinery, interpreting drawings, and maintaining quality and safety on the shop floor, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to read engineering drawings and routing instructions.
• Secondary school qualifications in English and Maths; vocational training desirable.
• Experience operating lathes, milling and drilling machines; attention to detail.

The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Production Operative to join an established aerospace manufacturing environment on a night shift basis.

You will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling and machining various aerospace components, working from engineering drawings and route cards to produce high-quality finished components that meet strict aerospace standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and weld aerospace components using resistance/seam and automated TIG welding equipment.
• Work with a range of materials including stainless steel, titanium and Inconel.
• Form and trim bellows using automated, semi-automated and manual machinery.
• Work closely with the laboratory to ensure weld testing meets requirements.
• Work accurately from engineering drawings and route cards.
• Operate lathes, milling and drilling machines.
• Maintain required operator verification approvals and follow relevant procedures.
• Work efficiently to agreed quality and production standards.
• Support continuous improvement and improved working methods where possible.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness on the shop floor.
• Follow all relevant Health & Safety, Fire, AWPS and operating procedures.
• Work effectively as part of a wider team and maintain a flexible approach.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating lathes, milling and drilling machines.
• Experience using a variety of hand tools.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and routing instructions.
• Good communication and written skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to problem-solve and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Flexible and reliable approach to teamwork.

Qualifications

Secondary school qualifications (English and Maths), with a combination of relevant experience. Additional vocational training and certifications in a related field is desirable.
