Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group is seeking a hands-on Shift Engineer to provide first-class mechanical and electrical support across PET extrusion, thermoforming and manufacturing equipment. The role features a 4 on/4 off, 12-hour shifts, and a salary of £53-55k.

The successful candidate will diagnose and repair breakdowns, fault-find across motors, drives, and controls, and carry out planned and reactive maintenance to improve reliability and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Multi-skilled engineering background with strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, plastics, packaging or process industries.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving abilities; relevant qualification (HNC, apprenticeship or equivalent).
• PLC, PET extrusion or thermoforming experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
• Fault-find across motors, drives, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics and controls.
• Complete planned and reactive maintenance.
• Carry out root-cause analysis to eliminate repeat failures.
• Support start-ups, changeovers, upgrades and new equipment.
• Drive reliability, TPM and continuous improvement.
