Job summary

Interaction Recruitment PLC is seeking a hands-on Shift Engineer (Multi-Skilled) to support PET extrusion, thermoforming and manufacturing equipment. The role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and performing both planned and reactive maintenance.

You will be part of a team delivering continuous improvement, with a 4 on/4 off, 12-hour shift pattern and a salary in the £53k–£55k range. Benefits and on-site facilities are included.

Qualifications

• Multi-skilled engineering experience with strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, plastics, packaging or process industries is preferred.
• PLC, PET extrusion or thermoforming exposure is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns across line equipment.
• Fault-find across motors, drives, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics and controls.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance and start-ups/changeovers.
• Support upgrades and new equipment, driving TPM and continuous improvement.

SHIFT ENGINEER – MULTI-SKILLED

£53- 55k | 4 on / 4 off | 12-hour shifts

Are you a hands-on Multi-Skilled Engineer who thrives on solving problems and keeping production moving?

We’re looking for a skilled Shift Engineer to join our team, providing first-class mechanical and electrical engineering support across PET extrusion, thermoforming and manufacturing equipment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical & electrical breakdowns
• Fault-find across motors, drives, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics & controls
• Complete planned and reactive maintenance
• Carry out root cause analysis and eliminate repeat failures
• Support start-ups, changeovers, upgrades and new equipment
• Drive reliability, TPM and continuous improvement

What we’re looking for:

• Multi-skilled engineering experience with strong mechanical & electrical skills
• Manufacturing, FMCG, plastics, packaging or process industry experience
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability
• HNC, apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
• PLC, PET extrusion or thermoforming experience is highly desirable
