Qualifications

Role Description

The Multi Skilled Operative role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Bristol Area, United Kingdom. The operative will carry out a variety of planned and reactive maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and small works across client sites, ensuring that building fabric, fixtures, and fittings are safe, functional, and well presented. Daily responsibilities may include basic plumbing and carpentry, painting and decorating, small building repairs, and assisting engineers with more complex works as required. The role involves conducting inspections, reporting issues, updating job records, and working closely with managers and office-based administrators to complete tasks efficiently and in line with health and safety standards. The operative will interact with clients and residents in a professional manner, supporting a positive customer experience while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in general building maintenance and repairs, such as basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and minor fabric works.
• Ability to diagnose common building issues, carry out routine inspections, and prioritize tasks to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices, safe use of tools and equipment, and adherence to company and site procedures.
• Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work professionally with clients, residents, and colleagues.
• Capability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing schedules across multiple sites.
• Basic IT skills for using job management systems, completing reports, and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
• Relevant trade or facilities maintenance qualifications, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience; industry certifications are advantageous.
• Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel within the Greater Bristol Area and occasionally to other locations as required.
