Job summary

Tarmac Building Products Ltd in Midlothian (Ravelrig Quarry) is recruiting a Multi Skilled Operative to join a busy site team. You will operate fixed and mobile plant to support production targets, while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires a Full UK Driving Licence, IT literacy and strong communication skills. Experience in quarry operations or asphalt plants is beneficial, with training provided to develop operational and supervisory capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial, factory or similar operational environment.
• Evidence of knowledge and safe operation of plant and equipment.
• Ability to communicate issues clearly to the supervisor and team.
• Driving licence held and IT basic skills demonstrated.
• Willingness to learn and develop supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate fixed and mobile plant including loading shovels and dump trucks.
• Support daily and weekly production targets.
• Ensure plant operators work safely and remain available.
• Perform routine plant inspections and report defects.
• Assist with basic plant maintenance.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, compliance and housekeeping.
• Communicate issues clearly to the Supervisor and wider team.

Tarmac is recruiting a Multi Skilled Operative to join the team at Ravelrig Quarry in Midlothian , easily accessible from Edinburgh and surrounding areas. Working as part of a multi-skilled site team,youllsupport the safe and efficient day-to-day running of the quarry,operatingboth fixed and mobile plant to help deliver high-quality materials to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate fixed and mobile plant including loading shoveland dump trucks
• Support daily and weekly production targets
• Ensure plantoperatessafely, efficiently andremainsavailable
• Perform routine plant inspections and report or act on defects
• Assistwith basic plant maintenance
• Maintainhigh standardsof health, safety, environmental and quality compliance
• Keep site housekeeping to a high standard
• Communicate issues clearly to the Supervisor and wider team

The Ideal Candidate

Werelooking for a motivated individual with experience in an industrial, factory or similar operational environment, who takes pride in their work and communicates effectively with others. Youllbe keen to learn, adaptable in your approach, and motivated to develop both operational and supervisory skills.

Experience within a quarry or asphalt plant would bebeneficial butisntessential werecommitted to supporting and training the right person.

To succeed in this?role we would expect a candidate to evidence:

• Knowledge of Plant
• Good timekeeping flexible as to the Units requirements?
• Good communicationskills bringing problems to the attention of Line Management
• Previousexperience in mobile Plant operations
• Full UK Driving Licence
• IT Literate
