Job summary

Tarmac is seeking a Multi Skilled Quarry Operative for Mountsorrel Quarry near Loughborough. You will drive mobile and fixed plant, support production targets, and uphold SHE policies on site.

The role requires experience in industrial environments, good communication, and a valid UK driving licence. Training will be provided to develop supervisory skills as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Industrial/Factory environment as an operative.
• Good communication and a desire to develop supervisory skills.
• Full UK driving licence and mobile/fixed plant knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Reporting directly to Quarry Supervisors.
• Operate mobile/fixed plant on site as part of the load and haul fleet.
• Support meeting daily/weekly production targets and maintain safety standards.
• Inspect plant, report defects and keep area tidy and compliant.

We are currently looking for a Multi Skilled Quarry Operative to join our fantastic team at our Mountsorrel Quarry, in Quorn, near to Loughborough in Leicestershire. This role is commutable from Quorn, Loughborough, Leicester, Melton Mowbray, Coalville, Shepshed, Syston, Glenfield, Ibstock, Sileby, Kegworth, Nottingham, Derby, Grantham, Matlock, Tunstead, Dene, Ashbourne, Oakham, Bardon Hill and the surrounding areas. Main Responsibilities

• Reporting directly to Quarry Supervisors.
• The Multi Skilled Quarry Operative will work on the day-to-day operations driving mobile plant as part of the Quarry load and haul fleet.
• Your responsibilities as the Multi Skilled Quarry Operative will include (not exhaustive): Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilitiesFollow SHE policies and proceduresOperating Mobile plant/Fixed plant on siteAssist the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targetsEnsure plantconforms with safety requirements at all timesInspections on the plant, reporting defects and assisting to implement remedial actionEnsure that plant availability ismaximisedWorking to keep housekeeping around site to a high standard.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience working within an Industrial, Factory or similar environment as an operative or labourer. As well as possess good communication skills and have a real desire in developing both operative and supervisory skills. To succeed in the role of a Multi Skilled Quarry Operative the following is what we are looking for in a future colleague: Knowledge of mobile and/or fixed plantMobile plant licences including: Rigid Dump Truck licence– (Highly desirable), Wheeled loading shovel, Excavator etc.Experience of working in a quarry load & haul fleetGood TimekeepingGood Communication skills – bringing problems to the attention of Line ManagementPrevious experience in mobile plant operationsFull UK Driving LicenceIT Literate (Preferable) Previous experience as a Multi Skilled Quarry Operative working in a Plant/Quarry environment would prove highly beneficial; but this is not essential as training will be given to the right candidate.
