Tarmac is recruiting a Multi Skilled Operative for Ravelrig Quarry in Midlothian, near Edinburgh. This hands-on role involves operating fixed and mobile plant, performing weighbridge duties, and supporting production targets on a busy quarry site.

You will work with a multi-skilled team, promote safety and efficiency, and benefit from development opportunities and a supportive company culture. Experience in quarry or asphalt plants is helpful but training is provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Plant
• Shovel License – desirable
• Good timekeeping – flexible as to the Units requirements
• Good communicationskills – bringing problems to the attention of Line Management
• Previous experience in mobile Plant operations
• Full UK Driving Licence
• IT Literate

Responsibilities

• Operate fixed and mobile plant including loading shovel and dump trucks
• Carry out weighbridge duties
• Support daily and weekly production targets
• Ensure plant operates safely, efficiently and remains available
• Perform routine plant inspections and report or act on defects
• Assist with basic plant maintenance
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance
• Keep site housekeeping to a high standard
• Communicate issues clearly to the Supervisor and wider team

Are you hands-on, safety-focused and looking for a practical role where no two days are the same?

Tarmac is recruiting a Multi Skilled Operative to join the team at Ravelrig Quarry in Midlothian , easily accessible from Edinburgh and surrounding areas. Working as part of a multi-skilled site team, you’ll support the safe and efficient day-to-day running of the quarry, operating both fixed and mobile plant to help deliver high-quality materials to our customers .

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily and weekly production targets

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a motivated individual with experience in an industrial, factory or similar operational environment, who takes pride in their work and communicates effectively with others . You’ll be keen to learn, adaptable in your approach, and motivated to develop both operational and supervisory skills .

Experience within a quarry or asphalt plant would be beneficial but isn’t essential — we’re committed to supporting and training the right person .

To succeed in this role we would expect a candidate to evidence:
