Job summary

Tarmac Building Products Ltd are seeking a Multi Skilled Operative at Ravelrig Quarry to support the safe, efficient running of the site. You will operate fixed and mobile plant, assist with production targets and maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping.

We value practical hands-on experience in quarry or industrial environments, a full UK driving licence and good communication skills. Training for supervisory duties may be provided to the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial, quarry or similar operational environment.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
• Safety minded with good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop supervisory capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate fixed and mobile plant to support efficient day-to-day quarry operations.
• Carry out weighbridge duties and assist with production targets.
• Ensure plant operators work safely and maintain equipment readiness.
• Perform routine plant inspections and report defects; assist with basic maintenance.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance; keep site tidy.
• Communicate issues clearly to the Supervisor and wider team.

Are you hands-on, safety-focused and looking for a practical role where no two days are the same? Tarmac is recruiting a Multi Skilled Operative to join the team at Ravelrig Quarry in Midlothian, easily accessible from Edinburgh and surrounding areas. Working as part of a multi-skilled site team, youllsupport the safe and efficient day-to-day running of the quarry, operatingboth fixed and mobile plant to help deliver high-quality materials to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate fixed and mobile plant including loading shoveland dump trucks
• Carry out weighbridge duties
• Support daily and weekly production targets
• Ensure plantoperators safely, efficiently and remains available
• Perform routine plant inspections and report or act on defects
• Assist with basic plant maintenance
• Maintainhigh standardsof health, safety, environmental and quality compliance
• Keep site housekeeping to a high standard
• Communicate issues clearly to the Supervisor and wider team

The Ideal Candidate

Werelooking for a motivated individual with experience in an industrial, factory or similar operational environment, who takes pride in their work and communicates effectively with others. Youllbe keen to learn, adaptable in your approach, and motivated to develop both operational and supervisory skills.

Experience within a quarry or asphalt plant would bebeneficial butisntessential werecommitted to supporting and training the right person.

To succeed in this?role we would expect a candidate to evidence:

• Knowledge of Plant
• Shovel License desirable
• Good timekeeping flexible as to the Units requirements?
• Good communicationskills bringing problems to the attention of Line Management
• Previousexperience in mobile Plant operations
• Full UK Driving Licence
• IT Literate
