Job summary

Sodexo is recruiting for a Security Officer at Sevington Inland Border Facility, Ashford, Kent. You will protect people and property, enforce site protocols and deliver professional customer service on site.

Key requirements include a valid SIA licence (desirable), strong observation, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Basic IT skills and experience with security systems, radios or reporting tools are helpful.

Responsibilities

• Be professional, pleasant, courteous and helpful while performing duties.

• Liaise with statutory authorities and provide incident information.
• Monitor site radio systems and maintain site records and logs.
• Develop strong working relationships with the on-site client.

Job description

• 42 Hours per week
• 4 on/ 4 off 07:00 - 19:00 or 19:00 - 07:00
• £13.25 per hour
• SIA Desirable
• Basic IT skills and confidence using security systems, radios, or reporting tools.
• Must have been resident in UK for minimum of 5 years for RTW compliances.
• We’re looking for someone who brings great observational skills, strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to everything they do!

Job Introduction

As a Security Officer at Sevington Inland Border Facility Ashford Kent TN25 6GE working for DEFRA

you will play a critical role in maintaining a secure, safe, and positive environment for all employees, visitors, and clients. This position requires a dependable individual who can remain alert, enforce site protocols, and respond effectively to various situations. You’ll be a visible presence on site, combining vigilance with excellent customer service to support Sodexo’s commitment to operational excellence and safety.

• Be professional, pleasant, friendly, courteous and helpful at all times whilst carrying out duties of he highest level.
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, ensuring customers are consistently informed throughout the process.
• Provide assistant to clients, contractors and visitors ensuring all site procedures and polices are adhered too.
• To liaise closely with statutory authorities, dealing with incidents and providing information to support.
• Continuous monitoring of site radio systems adhering to the correct procedures.
• Maintaining site records such as reference materials, incident forms and site occurrence book.
• To develop excellent working relationships with our on site client.

What You Will Bring:

• A valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Licence – essential for this role.
• A strong sense of responsibility and integrity, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
