Job summary

Sodexo Knottingley is seeking a vigilant Security Officer to protect staff, visitors and premises at Knottingley WF11 0HP. You will greet people, supervise access, patrol areas and respond to alarms, ensuring adherence to site security protocols.

The role is full-time on a 4 on 4 off 12-hour shift pattern with early hours (4:45am–4:45pm). A valid SIA licence and prior security experience are essential; you’ll join a team focused on safety and service.

Qualifications

• A valid and in-date SIA Licence.
• Proven experience as a corporate security officer or similar.
• Strong observational and communication skills and ability to handle emergencies calmly.

Responsibilities

• Greet staff and visitors and ensure they adhere to the required security protocols
• Monitor premises to prevent rule infractions
• Conduct regular patrols, ensuring a visible and reassuring presence
• Respond promptly to alarms and security incidents
• Enforce company policies and procedures
• Complete detailed handovers and report on any incidents
