Job summary

Imperium Recruitment LTD is seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician for a Northamptonshire-based site. The role offers £50,000 salary, 4 on 4 off shifts, with days and nights and an electrical bias to maintain and optimise automated plant.

You will work on conveyors, box erectors and storage systems in a modern logistics environment, performing fault finding, continuous improvement, and ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial).
• Experience in logistics, manufacturing, distribution, automation or similar environment.
• Strong fault-finding and analytical skills.
• Experience with automated systems, conveyors, robotics or warehouse technologies is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation of engineering systems and automated equipment.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Work closely with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to ensure smooth day-to-day performance.
• Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for technical issues.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Assist with project planning, equipment upgrades, and installation activities.
• Prepare technical documentation, maintenance reports, and performance data analysis.
• Support preventative maintenance programmes and reliability initiatives.

Are you a motivated Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias looking for your next career opportunity? Our client, based in Northamptonshire, is seeking an experienced and proactive engineer to join their team and play a key role in maintaining the performance and reliability of their site operations.

You will be working in a highly automated environment and will play a key part in maintaining and improving on-site machinery including conveyors, box erectors, totes, lidders, banding machinery, storage retrieval systems and more!

This is a great opportunity for an electrically biased maintenance engineer who enjoys working in a modern, technology-driven environment and has strong fault-finding abilities.

Key Responsibilities for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician

• Previous experience within logistics, manufacturing, distribution, automation, or a similar operational environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience working with automated systems, conveyors, robotics, or warehouse technologies is advantageous.
• Knowledge of maintenance systems and engineering best practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-moving environment.
