Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) for a site in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. The role offers £47–£50k per annum DOE, with overtime and on-call payments, on a permanent full-time basis.

You will carry out planned maintenance, diagnose faults, and support production to minimise downtime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. An electrical bias is advantageous.

• Proven maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing/production environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work across electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production equipment.
• Respond to machinery breakdowns and production issues promptly.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
• Support production teams by minimising equipment downtime.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability and performance.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with procedures.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing, production, or processing environment
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work across both electrical and mechanical systems
• Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent) preferred
• Electrical bias would be advantageous
• Experience working in a fast-paced production environment
