Sierra 57 Consult is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer on a contract basis for an established injection moulding manufacturer. The role focuses on providing breakdown cover, performing preventative maintenance and repairing injection moulding machinery and automation systems.

Applicants should have a strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance, with proven fault-finding skills and experience with plastics/moulding equipment and robots.

Working alongside our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join their team on a contract basis.

Remit

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for providing breakdown cover and maintaining injection moulding machines, automation equipment and associated ancillary equipment. You will have strong electrical and mechanical skills, with proven experience in fault finding, problem solving and repairing injection moulding machinery, robots and automated systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong background in injection moulding maintenance.

Role

• To provide shift breakdown cover on injection moulding machines, automation equipment and ancillary equipment.
• To carry out planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs on injection moulding machines and associated equipment.
• To diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults to minimise machine downtime and maintain production efficiency.
• To maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems across manufacturing equipment.
• To identify and implement improvements to machinery performance, reliability and OEE.
• To ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• To assist with the installation, modification and improvement of machinery and automation equipment as required.

Experience

• Time-served Maintenance Engineer with a multi-skilled electrical and mechanical background.
• Proven experience maintaining, fault finding and repairing injection moulding machines within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working with injection moulding machinery, robots, automation systems and associated ancillary equipment.
• Good working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical control systems.
• Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.
• A proactive approach to problem solving, reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability.
