Job summary

Sierra 57 Consult Ltd. is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established injection moulding manufacturer on a contract basis.

The role focuses on breakdown cover, planned maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair of injection moulding machines, robots and automation equipment. You will diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and identify improvements to boost uptime, reliability and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Qualifications

• Time-served maintenance engineer with a multi-skilled electrical and mechanical background.
• Experience maintaining, fault finding and repairing injection moulding machines within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working with injection moulding machinery, robots, automation systems and associated ancillary equipment.
• Good working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical control systems.
• Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.
• A proactive approach to problem solving, reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

• To provide shift breakdown cover on injection moulding machines, automation equipment and ancillary equipment.
• To carry out planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs on injection moulding machines and associated equipment.
• To diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults to minimise machine downtime and maintain production efficiency.
• To maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems across manufacturing equipment.
• To identify and implement improvements to machinery performance, reliability and OEE.
• To ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• To assist with the installation, modification and improvement of machinery and automation equipment as required.
