Job summary

Mars Petcare seeks a proactive Multi-Skilled Engineer for our Castle Cary facility. In this site-based role you will ensure maximum plant reliability, efficiency, and safety across production and packaging lines, delivering both planned maintenance and rapid breakdown responses.

You will collaborate with operations to drive continuous improvement, minimize downtime, and uphold world-class safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Approved apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience performing electrical and mechanical maintenance in manufacturing environment.
• Strong HSE knowledge including LOTO and Permit to Work.
• Excellent communication and teamwork to handover statuses.
• Own transport is essential due to site location.

Responsibilities

• Planned & Reactive Maintenance: perform scheduled PPMs and rapid fault diagnosis.
• Safety & Compliance Leadership: uphold HSE standards and Mars policies.
• Continuous Improvement: identify opportunities to optimize machine performance.
• Collaboration & Documentation: maintain CMMS logs and clear shift handovers.
