Job summary

Mars Petcare in Castle Cary is seeking a proactive Multi-Skilled Engineer to ensure maximum plant reliability, safety and efficiency across production and packaging lines. You will deliver preventative maintenance and rapid breakdown response, collaborating with operations to drive continuous improvement and uphold safety and quality standards.

The role requires an approved apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, hands-on maintenance experience, and a strong safety

Qualifications

Approved apprenticeship/ NVQ level 3 in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Experience in hands-on maintenance, fault-finding and diagnostics in a manufacturing environment.
Strong commitment to health, safety and environment (HSE) guidelines.

Responsibilities

Planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
Ensure safety, quality, and compliance with Mars policies and UK legislation.
Drive continuous improvement through equipment layout changes and technical solutions.
Maintain detailed maintenance logs and shift handovers for continuity.
