Job summary

Mars Petcare seeks a proactive Multi-Skilled Engineer at the Castle Cary site to maintain production and packaging lines, delivering both preventative maintenance and rapid fault response. Qualifications

• Qualified Engineer with approved apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3, ONC, or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Hands-on maintenance experience in electrical and mechanical systems in manufacturing.
• Strong HSE knowledge including LOTO, risk assessments, and safe work practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork for effective handovers and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Execute planned maintenance and rapid fault diagnosis to minimize downtime.
• Lead safety and quality compliance across the site per Mars policies and UK law.
• Identify improvements to machine performance and layouts to reduce downtime and waste.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, update CMMS data, and provide clear shift handovers.
