Job summary

Sheffield Forgemasters is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Forge Maintenance Team at our Sheffield site. You will maintain forge equipment, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and document activities using the Spidex CMMS system.

The role requires strong electrical/electronic/mechanical diagnostic capabilities, experience with CNC controls, and a background in heavy manufacturing or hot working environments. Excellent problem-solving and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold up-to-date 18th Edition regulations.
• Recognised apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong diagnostic skills across electrical, electronic and mechanical systems.
• Experience with electronics and CNC controls (Siemens, Fanuc).
• Electrical fault diagnostics with multi-skilled capabilities.
• Experience in heavy manufacturing or hot working environments.
• Knowledge of machine tool processes, overhead cranes and DC motor controls.
• Ability to plan maintenance and projects effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Respond to equipment and facilities breakdowns and perform corrective actions.
• Carry out planned, preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Electrical isolation of plant and equipment.
• Maintain documentation in the Spidex CMMS system.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance Lead Electrical Engineer on planning.
• Support achievement of operational targets and schedules.
• Ensure PM activities follow instructions and implement corrective actions.
• Lead root cause analysis actions when issues arise.
• Maintain health, safety and housekeeping standards in all areas.
• Mentor team members as required.
