Job summary

Sheffield Forgemasters is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join the maintenance team at our 64-acre site in the heart of Sheffield. The role involves installation, repairs and planned maintenance to plant and equipment in the Melt Shop Department, including heavy forging presses.

The successful candidate will be apprentice-trained, up-to-date with 17th Edition, and capable of fault finding on AC/DC controls, with experience in heavy industrial environments and overhead cranes.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained electrician with strong electrical installation knowledge.
• Up-to-date with regulations (17th Edition).
• Skilled in fault finding on both AC and DC controls.
• Experienced in heavy industrial and/or hot work environments.
• Experience of working on overhead cranes.
• Conversant with both predictive and planned maintenance techniques.
• Safety-focused with a solid understanding of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on heavy industrial equipment (AC and DC cranes, hydraulic presses, forging machinery).
• Supporting new installations and upgrades to plant equipment.
• Working at height and adhering to safe systems of work.
• Collaborating with the Maintenance Supervisor to plan maintenance schedules.
• Working to PPM systems.
• Driving a culture of continuous improvement within the department.
