Job summary

McBride in Manchester seeks a highly motivated Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support a high-volume production site. You will work in a cross-functional team on day shifts, driving proactive and reactive maintenance to maximise production speed with minimal downtime.

The role requires a time-served background or HNC/ONC in electrical/mechanical engineering and strong fault-finding on pneumics, hydraulics and electrical control systems. A structured, safety-driven mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience on high volume production automated machinery.
• Apprenticeship or HNC/ONC in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• Able to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Strong multi-skilled maintenance fault finding capabilities.
• Experience in FMCG maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pro-active member of cross-functional team maintaining 24/7 reactive and proactive engineering service.
• Manage permits to work, isolation procedures and risk assessments.
• Carry out planned maintenance inspections and tasks to a high standard.
• Fault finding and timely repairs to minimise production losses.
• Use CI/Lean techniques to drive maintenance improvements and TPM initiatives.
• Produce technical documentation such as SOPs and risk assessments.
