Job summary

G's Group in Barway (England) is seeking a proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support production operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement. You will work on planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and collaborate with a strong team on safety and efficiency.

Join a site with modern equipment and opportunities for professional development. Shifts run 6:00am–14:30 and 9:30am–18:00, Monday to Friday, with weekend rotation as described.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within a maintenance engineering role in a manufacturing, production, food processing, or similar environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across mechanical and/or electrical systems.
• Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
• Relevant engineering qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnosing faults quickly and implementing effective solutions to minimise production downtime.
• Prioritising maintenance activities to support operational requirements and meet production targets.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, reliability, and performance.
• Participating in engineering projects, including the design, modification, and fabrication of equipment where required.
• Assisting with the management of engineering stores, maintaining appropriate stock levels of critical spare parts.
• Ordering equipment and replacement components as required.
• Providing technical advice and support to third‑party sites and contractors when necessary.
• Coaching and sharing knowledge with colleagues to strengthen team capability and encourage best practice.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and health & safety at all times.
• Supporting site operations and providing leadership cover in the absence of the Engineering Manager or Team Leader when required.
