Job summary

G's Group is seeking a proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team in Soham. You will maintain and improve factory machinery, respond to breakdowns, and support continuous improvement across the site.

You will perform planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs, diagnose faults, prioritise work, and provide technical guidance. The role offers training, progression, and a collaborative, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within a maintenance engineering role in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs on production machinery.
• Diagnose faults quickly and implement solutions to minimise downtime.
• Prioritise maintenance activities to support production targets.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency and reliability.
• Participate in engineering projects including design, modification and fabrication of equipment.
• Assist with engineering stores management and stock levels of critical parts.
• Order equipment and replacement components as required.
• Provide technical advice and support to third-party sites and contractors.
• Coach and share knowledge with colleagues to strengthen team capability.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene and health & safety.
