A leading food manufacturing company in York is looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to ensure onsite equipment operates effectively. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, provide technical support for facilities, and perform maintenance routines. Candidates should have an Electrical Trades qualification and experience in a similar role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment. Job description

Join our dynamic team at New World Foods (part of Kepak Group) in York as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer! This full‑time, permanent role is all about ensuring our onsite equipment runs smoothly. As a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll collaborate across different departments, work closely with the production team, mentor an apprentice, and engage with a variety of suppliers.

This position will require a certain level of flexibility working across Monday – Friday with occasional weekends. Rotating shifts are: 6 am – 2 pm and 2 pm – 10 pm.

Main Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot Electrical and Mechanical issues on production lines
• Repair electro‑mechanical PLC‑controlled equipment and manage pneumatic/hydraulic systems
• Provide technical support for plant facilities, including air, refrigeration, and steam systems
• Perform Preventive & Predictive Maintenance routines
• Monitor line and machine performance
• Collaborate with suppliers on new equipment installations and modifications
• Maintain cleanliness in work and transit areas
• Engage in training and development for job‑related skills
• Update maintenance management system (CMMS) and record all maintenance activities

Requirements

• Electrical Trades qualification, mechanical experience would be an advantage
• Previous experience in a similar Multi‑Skilled role, ideally within a Food manufacturing or FMCG environment
• Strong diagnostic/root cause analysis skills
