Prime Appointments Ltd in Witham is seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a days-based role in a busy production environment. The role is approximately 70% electrical and 30% mechanical, covering a range of production equipment and both planned and reactive maintenance.

You will work on PLCs, motors, drives, sensors and control equipment, participate in a 1-in-4 on-call rota, and contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining accurate maintenance records.

Formación

• Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ, BTEC or equivalent) and 17th/18th Edition BS7671.
• Experience maintaining in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills including PLC inputs/outputs and analogue signals.
• Practical mechanical maintenance experience and ability to diagnose/repair faults independently.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.

We are recruiting for an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business in Witham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an electrically biased engineer looking for a days-based role within a busy production environment. The position is approximately 70% electrical and 30% mechanical, involving a mixture of planned and reactive maintenance across a range of production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime
• Fault-find on PLC systems, motors, drives, sensors and control equipment
• Maintain mechanical equipment including conveyors, gearboxes, pumps and bearings
• Support continuous improvement projects and maintain accurate maintenance records
• Participate in a 1-in-4 on-call rota for out-of-hours breakdowns

Skills & Experience Required

• Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ, BTEC or equivalent), along with 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
• Maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills, including PLC inputs, outputs and analogue signals
• Practical mechanical maintenance experience, with the ability to diagnose and repair faults independently
• Experience with motors, drives and industrial machinery
• A proactive approach to health, safety and maintenance

Formal mechanical qualifications are not essential where candidates can demonstrate relevant hands‑on experience. ATEX, welding or fabrication experience would be advantageous.
