CV TECHNICAL LTD in Shepton Mallet is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to maintain production machinery and maximise uptime within a fast-paced facility.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, and respond to breakdowns on electrical and mechanical systems, including PLC fault finding and hydraulics/pneumatics, while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role offers a competitive salary and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering.
• Multi-skilled with electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG or production environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production machinery.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Fault find on PLC-controlled machinery.
• Work on conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Support continuous improvement projects to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.
• Accurately complete maintenance documentation using the CMMS.

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of production machinery through planned preventative maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns. Working as part of a skilled engineering team, you will help maximise plant uptime while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production machinery.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Fault find on PLC-controlled machinery.

The Ideal Candidate

• Apprentice trained or hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering.
• Multi-skilled with both electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing, FMCG or production environment.
• Confident fault finding on automated machinery.
• Knowledge of PLC fault finding would be advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
