Job summary

Harper Anderton is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a fast-paced food manufacturing site in Coventry. You will contribute to reactive maintenance and continuous improvement, across high-speed production and packaging equipment, owning electrical and mechanical maintenance while supporting site projects.

You will diagnose faults, implement long-term fixes, participate in upgrades and installations, and maintain accurate maintenance records to support site reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in food, beverage or FMCG manufacturing is advantageous.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities.
• recognised Engineering qualification or apprenticeship.
• Experience working with automated production and packaging machinery.
• Knowledge of PLC fault finding is beneficial.
• Proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Strong problem-solving skills under pressure.
• Good communication with engineering, production and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across production and packaging equipment.
• Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns across the site.
• Identifying recurring equipment issues and implementing long-term solutions.
• Supporting continuous improvement projects focused on reliability, efficiency and performance.
• Working closely with Production and Operations teams to resolve engineering issues.
• Supporting machinery installations, upgrades and commissioning.
• Maintaining accurate engineering and maintenance records.
• Ensuring engineering activities align with Health & Safety and food safety requirements.
• Supporting the development and improvement of the site's preventative maintenance programme.

Are you a Multi-Skilled Engineer looking to join a fast-paced food manufacturing site where you can get involved in everything from reactive maintenance to continuous improvement projects?

This is an opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a busy food manufacturing operation, working as part of an established Engineering team to maximise equipment reliability and minimise production downtime. You’ll work across a range of high-speed production and packaging equipment, taking ownership of both electrical and mechanical maintenance while supporting wider site improvement projects.

The role would suit an engineer who enjoys fault finding, problem-solving and working closely with Production to keep a manufacturing site running effectively. There will also be opportunities to get involved in machinery upgrades, installations and continuous improvement activity.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

What's required?

• Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience within food, beverage or FMCG manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities.
• A recognised Engineering qualification or apprenticeship.
• Experience working with automated production and packaging machinery.
• Knowledge of PLC fault finding would be beneficial.
• A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with Engineering, Production and Operations teams.
