Job summary

D R Newitt is recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join a growing food industry client on a permanent basis. The role operates a 4 on 4 off pattern with days and nights, offering a salary of £48,000-£49,000 plus unique company benefits.

Key duties include electrical and mechanical maintenance, breakdown response, reactive and planned works, and installation of machinery. Ideal candidates hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent with strong fault-finding skills and PLC I/O understanding.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent in electrical or mechanical discipline.
• Ability to fault-find electrical and mechanical machines/systems.
• Ability to understand electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Electrical and mechanical maintenance of equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform reactive and planned maintenance.
• Install machinery and support start-up/shutdown activities.

D R Newitt are working with a close client in the Food Industry who due to growth are looking for a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.

This is a 4 on 4 off pattern (days and nights).

On offer is a salary of £48,000-£49,000 plus unique company benefits.

Key duties:

• Electrical and mechanical maintenance
• Breakdowns
• Reactive and planned works

Candidate requirements:

• UK recognised electrical or mechanical qualification - NVQ level 3/equivalent or Above
• Be able to fault find in both electrical and mechanical machines/systems.
• Ability to understand Electrical and mechanical Engineering Drawings.
• Basic PLC I/O understanding.
• Conversion qualifications (to Elec/Mech)
• Good understanding of drives, motors, brakes, transmissions, closed loop feedback, transducers.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated, hard-working and organised
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines e.g production start up
