Job summary

McCain Foods is seeking a proactive Multi-Skilled Engineer to maintain and improve our Whittlesey site. You will handle planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and support production to keep lines running smoothly.

The role spans mechanical and electrical disciplines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. We value engineers who communicate clearly, work under pressure, and drive continuous improvement while following safety and lean principles.

Qualifications

• Essential: NVQ 2/3 or equivalent OR City & Guilds Part 3 in engineering.
• Essential: time-served apprenticeship.
• Desirable: HNC/ONC in a relevant discipline.
• Desirable: IOSH/NEBOSH certificate.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the site to keep plant running safely.
• Diagnose faults quickly to root cause and implement lasting fixes.
• Work with production teams to meet standards and communicate issues clearly.
• Lead continuous improvement and embed lean practices.
• Maintain accurate records in CMMS and support safety initiatives.
• Ensure safe working practices and personal wellbeing on site.
